Crowdsourcing a viable
write-in for
U.S President
"We
the people" can get better than we're getting,
our nation deserves better, and the world expects more of
us.
Let's pick a consensus alternative, get them
registered, and write them in as President.
This process would produce a
sovereign executive
-
- with no fundraising => de facto
campaign finance reform
- without campaign staff/office
overhead
- with no back-room deals or kingmakers to
pay back - beholden only to the electorate
- freed from party machinations/intrigue -
no party to be apologist for, or act as head of, fundraise for,
or
shill for its candidates
elected by a sovereign
people
- bypassing the sorry current political
party choices
- rebuking and overcoming the pathologies of
the
status quo
Consider these characteristics for a viable
consensus write-in candidate:
-
Baseline constitutional requirements : age
>34, natural born citizen, permanent US resident >13
years
- Never been a presidential candidate
before
- A centrist - neither markedly Democrat or
Republican, right nor left, conservative nor liberal, but a
trustable moderate of wisdom and judgement that can be broadly
supported
- Has sufficient public information
available (warts and all) from which the electorate can
adjudge fitness to task - crowd-vetted
- Willing to endure the harsh scrutiny
attendant to this process.
- Sees it as a term of
national service.
While the candidate should be acceptable to the massive
middle, the process is
sufficiently
anti-establishment to enfranchise eg; Sanders or
Trump or … supporters and disaffected voters.

Administrivia
- Don't waste scarce time bashing proposals
- proffer well-argued alternatives instead
- Need by-state constraints and instructions
for general election write-in voting
- Volunteers to do the footwork of preparing
state-by-state registrations for our
conscript(/tribute? :-) to
sign/submit.
- To propose a nominee eg;
-
curl --data "" --header "Nominor: m@i.l"
--header "Nominee: http://i.nf/o" --url
http://sovereign.org
- Header values - 64 bytes max
each

2016 October 26 : At this late date in this election cycle (write-in registration dates having come and gone), the
McMullin/Finn ticket looks to be the closest viable option along these lines.
